Radio Room

Several modified toy walkie talkies are placed throughout the space, periodically switched on and off by separately built circuits. The walkie talkies designated as 'transmitters' are sending audio from light-sensitive oscillator circuits which are also being switched on and off at intervals. The walkie talkies set as 'receivers' send the audio signal out: to tiny speakers, to headphones, to  larger standalone speaker systems. These larger speaker systems are also turned on and off at intervals.

The resulting system is one of abrupt but unpredictable textures of purely electronic noise. The introduction of the viewer into the space affect subtle changes to this system in the form of radio wave and light beam interference.
